SUSAN DIANE LANDRETH
October 28, 1959 - July 27, 2018

Susan Diane Landreth went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2018. She was born in Redstone Arsenal, AL on October 28, 1959 to Bob and Hazel L. Sheen. She was preceded in death by her father and is survived by husband Rodney of 36 years of Helotes, TX, her mother of Colorado City, TX, sister Gail Sneed and husband Jody of Midland, TX, brother Brian Sheen and wife Marilyn of Maryneal, TX, nephews, Joshua Sneed and wife Catherine of Dallas, TX, Matthew Sneed and wife Phylicia of Houston, TX, nieces, Kayla Blundell and husband Josh and son Sebastian of Las Cruces, NM, Tierney Sheen of Longview, TX, an uncle, aunts, and numerous cousins.

She lived her early childhood in Lamesa, TX before the family moved to Colorado City, TX in 1971. She graduated from Colorado High School in 1978 and attended Texas Tech University. She graduated from UTSA in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She received a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering from UT Arlington in 1993. Susan received her PE in 1999. She was a Vice President at Vickrey & Associates, Inc. with 14 years tenure at the firm. She had a total of 30 years of experience in civil engineering. Over the years, she served as a mentor and trailblazer for many women in engineering. She had experience in all types of projects, including public works, land development, transportation, water, wastewater, gas utilities, drainage and other specialty projects. Notable recent projects that she managed at Vickrey include the extension of UTSA Blvd and the extension of Hardy Oak Blvd. Her outstanding technical skills and professionalism were noticed and respected by all her clients and associates. She was loved by all of her co-workers. She was active in ASCE, NSPE, TSPE, AWWA and served on the Texas Public Works Response Team in the reentry efforts during Hurricane Ike.

She loved her many rescue dogs, the thrill of off-roading, playing games with her family and clay target shooting. She was dedicated to her profession and her beloved family. She was a strong woman and faithful Christian who loved the Lord.

Celebration of life will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North at 2102 N. Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232 on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Graveside services will be at Colorado City Cemetery in Colorado City, TX on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 am.
