Sylvia Griffith, born in Panna Maria on August 3, 1922, passed away on August 9, 2018. She left Panna Maria in 1944 and moved to San Antonio, where she obtained an associate business degree. Upon completion she worked for Alamo Title Company. In San Antonio, she met her beloved husband, Walter R. Griffith, and they wed on January 6, 1947.

They left San Antonio for College Station, where Walter completed his Engineering Degree from Texas A&M. They eventually settled in San Antonio, where she worked for San Antonio Parks & Recreation for many years.
