Obituary

Theodore J. Masterson, age 94, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of five children, to William and Elizabeth (McGrath) Masterson. He entered the US Army in 1945 and Served in 11th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division in WWII. After four campaigns in the European Theatre, he retired at Ft. Knox, Kentucky in December 1963 as SFC. During his service, he earned numerous awards including:

o Bronze Star
o Army Commendation Medal
o Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Clasp and Four Loops
o European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars
o World War II Victory Medal
o National Defense Service Medal
o Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star
o United Nations Service Medal
o Combat Infantryman Badge

He relocated to San Antonio in January, 1964 and retired as Premium Auditor from American General Insurance Co. June 1990. Throughout the years, he was a Member and Past Master of Brahan Masonic Lodge 226; District Deputy Grand Master for Grand Lodge of Texas; Member of San Antonio Scottish Rite (KCCH); Member of Alzafar Shrine Temple since Nov 1970; was active in several units primarily the Alzafar Patrol; Member Royal Order of Jesters since 1995; Member of the Conservation Society of San Antonio
Life Member VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Harriet Adams Masterson; and siblings, William T. Masterson,
George F. Masterson, Catherine A. Mott, and Irene E. von Magnus. Theodore is survived by his daughter, Kathe Masterson of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews.
