Obituary

Ted Popp, Sr., age 78, of San Antonio, TX, passed away surrounded by family on October 3, 2017. He was born in Bennettsville, IN on November 30, 1938. Ted is survived by his wife, Donna Popp; daughter, Leane Morgan and husband Howard; daughter, Donna Lynn Whalen and husband Mike; daughter-in-law, Connie Popp; grandchildren, Sara Murphy, Tres Popp, Stephanie Bonham, and Craig Bielke. Ted is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Popp Mitchell; and his son, Ted Popp, Jr.

Ted was an accomplished businessman who was respected by his peers. He had a long, distinguished career as a CPA--serving as a partner with Ernst & Young's San Antonio operation for many years. Ted was a strong advocate of education. He graduated from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX and continued to promote them for many years by serving on their Board of Directors. Ted's faith was a big part of his life. As a devoted Catholic, he loved sharing his faith and biblical knowledge with his family and close friends. Ted lived his life as an example of the "Golden Rule" --treat others, as you'd like to be treated.

Ted was married to the love of his life, the former Miss Donna Sue Hollan, for 58 years. He treasured the time spent with her, his children, grandchildren, his extended family in Indiana, as well as the many friends that he treated as family. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Father Mike Horan of Christ the King Church for his friendship and spiritual guidance.
