Obituary for Tina Louise Booth Smith

September 15, 1961 - June 30, 2019
San Antonio, Texas | Age 57

On Sunday morning, June 30th, Tina Louise Booth Smith, at the age of 57, peacefully passed from this life, at home. Her beloved husband Rick and daughter Nicole Langston (Erich) were at her side. She was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, moved numerous times with her military family and settled in San Antonio. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from the University of Texas. Her professional career was spent in advertising but the time she spent painting was precious to her. Some of her work will be on display on Saturday, at her Memorial Service.

Tina was preceded in death by her father, Col. Harry J. Booth, USAF and survived by her mother, Sarah Cheney Booth. Also surviving her are two sisters and a brother, Lydia Booth Fenley (David Dickey), Marcus Booth (Julie) and Marta Booth Lopez (Robert) as well as Lydia's children, Elizabeth Rogers (Eric) and Kevin Fenley.

At her daughter's request and for her companionship, Tina made herself into a runner, completing over 10 half marathons in the last 5 years and amazing the M.D. Anderson doctors by being the only radiation patient they'd had to run a half marathon while during treatment. Tina regularly ran 25 miles a week.

All who knew Tina later in her life knew she had two passions - family and deep- sea fishing. She and Rick loved going to the coast and treasured the community of fishing friends they met and played with in Rockport and Aransas Pass. Rick and Nicole are in agreement that what made Tina the most frustrated was losing a big fish before she knew what it was.

Tina's love and devotion to Rick, who she met on a CB radio (Sky Hawk and Mountain Climber), was unquestionable. Their marriage of 38 years has set a beautiful example for all of us, but especially for their daughter and son-in-law, Erich. Seeing Nicole and Erich's loving relationship brought peace to Tina and confidence that Nicole would be loved and cared for always.

Visitation with Tina's family will begin at 10:30am, Saturday morning, July 6, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. A Memorial Service will begin at 12 noon.

Rick's new address is: 6215 Via La Cantera, Apt 235, San Antonio TX 78256
