Veronica Frances Burke, 49, passed away unexpectedly at 8:55 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019.

Veronica was born December 9, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas. She was the second of three children. Veronica was a 1988 graduate of Highlands High School. She married Stoney Burke on February 3, 1994, and on November 28, 1992, November 26, 1998, and January 30 2005 respectively, she welcomed her three beautiful children into the world. After many years of travel, Veronica settled in San Antonio to be near her family.

Veronica was a devoted mother, traveler, and avid reader. She loved beaches, lighthouses, thriller novels, and travel. Veronica loved to spend time with a good book, especially if she was on the beach or on the way to one. Throughout her time with us, Veronica visited beaches and lighthouses along the east and west coast of the continental United States, the island of Oahu in Hawaii, and numerous countries and territories in the Caribbean and Central America. Veronica was a spiritual person who enjoyed weekly visits to church, reading bible verses, and assisting in church activities.

Veronica was also a lifelong San Antonio Spurs fan. Her favorite player of all time was Manu Ginobili.

Veronica recently graduated from the Baptist Vocational Nursing program and was interested in pursuing the completion of her Registered Nursing certification. She had a passion for helping people and wanted to dedicate her life to nursing.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Stoney Burke and her three children, Samantha, Joshua, and Rochelle. She is also survived by her parents, Willie and Delia Carrillo; two sisters, Linda Urrutia and husband Richard and Rachel Boswell and husband David; mother and father-in-law, sister-in-law, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 16, at the Porter Loring North Funeral Home. Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on June 17th. Burial will be in the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

The following individuals will serve as pallbearers: Joshua Burke, Ruben Villarreal, William Beal, Ethan DeVilbiss, David Boswell, and Jeremy Urrutia.
