Obituary

Veronica May Eberhardt, known to many as Gaga, entered into Heaven on Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at the age of 92. She passed peacefully at her home in San Antonio, Tx surrounded by her family.

Veronica was born March 10th, 1926 in Hollywood, Fl. She was raised in Texas City, Tx. She married Harry G. Eberhardt on October 27th, 1942 and served as a military wife and mother until his retirement in 1960.

Veronica traveled the world with her husband Harry and their children, living in places such as Germany and France. She spent time volunteering in a hospital in the newborn unit providing comfort and care to the babies. In her later years she enjoyed many hobbies such as playing pinochle, bowling, playing bunco, and traveling with her family. At one point in time she was a member of the Jackie Chan fan club and even traveled to Hong Kong to meet him. She loved music - from the oldies, to the classics, to tejano, to rap.

Above all, Veronica loved life and lived hers to the absolute fullest. She was compassionate and loving. She was a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She never met a stranger and her door was always open to everyone. When you were at her house you knew you were someplace you were welcome and loved, a place that any one could call "home". She made friends wherever she went, attracting people like a magnet with her vibrant and warmhearted personality. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and adopted many of them throughout her lifetime. She loved her family and friends more than anything and she always made sure that you knew that. Veronica will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Veronica is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harry G. Eberhardt, and her brothers Charles McGee and Donald Welch.

Veronica is survived by her children, Harry G. Eberhardt Jr and his wife Barbara, Theresa Eberhardt, Charles E. Eberhardt and his wife Cathleen, Tracy Eberhardt-Schneider, Jessica Reynolds - her caregiver who became like a daughter; her grandchildren, Heather Eberhardt, Michael Eberhardt, Jason Eberhardt, his wife Tiffany and their son Jaxson, Aimee Candelas, her husband Nicholas and their children Alyssa and Madeleine, Tina Merritt, her husband Daniel and their children Emily and Wesley; her great-grandchildren, Tanner Eberhardt, Madison Andrews, her husband Jack and their children Audree and Brayden, Baleigh Hildebrandt, her husband Alex and their son Hayden, Mason Eberhardt, McKenna Eberhardt-Kroeger, as well as many nieces and nephews.
