The beautiful and faith-filled life of Virginia Lyssy Jendrusch, of San Antonio, TX, ended peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Born August 16, 1932, in Kosciusko, TX to John and Helen Lyssy, Virginia was the oldest of 8 brothers and sisters. She was a graduate of Poth High School Class of 1950 and Southwest Texas State University Class of 1989.

All who knew or came in contact with Virginia knew first hand her passion for helping others. She was a civil service employee at Fort Sam Houston for a total of 27 years. Virginia embodied strength and persistence throughout her entire life, surviving breast cancer while at the same time working full time and earning her bachelor's degree. She furthered her mission in helping others as a successful Catholic Life Insurance Representative from 1990, retiring at age 84. During this time, she received many accolades and awards for her service.

Virginia was a devout parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church for 40 years. As an active and visible member of her church community, she was a member of the Altar Society and Very Special Persons.

Virginia also served her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be eternally missed by her 4 children and their spouses; Diane and Steve Miller, Laurie and Rodney Clark, Alan and Monica Jendrusch, and Ann and Joe Christenson; her 12 grandchildren Ryan and Alicia, Bradley and Laura, Jason, Lauren, Katie, Cody, Taylor, Nicole, Chase, and Lindsey; and 2 great-grand daughters Mackenzie and Aubrey. Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Leonard Jendrusch and her grandson Clifford Miller.

Virginia's family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM on Friday March 9, 2018 followed immediately by a Rosary Service, both at Blessed Sacrament Church. A memorial mass will be held at 9:00 on Saturday March 10, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Church, with reception to follow.
